History and description
Stadion Miejski w Gdyni, also known as GOSiR Stadion, was built between 2009 and 2011 to provide Arka with a modern home.
The stadium officially opened on 19 February 2011 with an exhibition match between Arka Gdynia and Bulgarian side Beroe Stara Zagora, which had been the club’s first UEFA Cup Winner’s Cup opponent in 1979.
Stadion Miejski w Gdyni came at a cost of a little under PLN 80 million. It has served as the home of Baltyk Gdynia too, but they currently play their home matches at the nearby Narodowy Stadion Rugby.

Eat, drink, and sleep near Stadion Miejski w Gdyni
Stadion Miejski w Gdyni is located on an office park at the edge of the city. Unless you like forests, there isn’t a whole lot to do near the stadium, though the large Centrum Riviera shopping centre is only a 15-minute walk away. It’s also the best place close to the stadium to find something to eat or drink.
There aren’t any hotels directly near the stadium, though you’ll be able to find an apartment rental in the residential neighbourhoods around the stadium if you need to stay close. Most will decide to either stay in seaside resort town Sopot or the historic city of Gdansk though, which are more pleasant alternatives than Gdynia itself, though there are a few hotels to choose from in Gdynia’s city centre.
