Estadio Enrique Roca de Murcia

Key facts

Club: Real Murcia CF | Opening: 2006 | Capacity: 31,179 seats

History and description

Estadio Enrique Roca de Murcia, initially called Estadio Nueva Condomina, replaced Murcia’s old Estadio La Condomina, located in Murcia’s city centre.

The stadium officially opened on 11 October 2006 with a friendly between Spain and Argentina (2-1). The first goal was scored by Xavi.

Estadio Nueva Condomina was one of the venues selected to host matches in Spain’s 2018 World Cup bid, which would have meant an increase in capacity to 43,000 seats, but the bid failed to get selected.

The stadium is also occasionally used for matches of the Spanish national team.

Estadio Nueva Condomina changed name in 2019 to Estadio Enrique Roca de Murcia following a naming rights sponsorship deal.

How to get to Estadio Enrique Roca de Murcia

Estadio Enrique Roca de Murcia is located in the municipality of Churra, which lies north of the city of Murcia. The distance from Murcia’s city centre is about 7 kilometres.

The stadium is situated next to the large Nueva Condomina shopping mall, and lies adjacent to the A7 motorway, though it does not have a dedicated exit. Therefore, take the 763A in the direction of Murcia, and at the roundabout follow for Centro Comerciales. Pass Ikea (on your left), take the third exit at the roundabout, and the first at the next roundabout. Signs will guide you from there.

If using public transport, Estadio Enrique Roca de Murcia can be reached with Murcia’s only tram line 1. Catch the tram on the northern side of Murcia’s city centre at Plaza Circular or at the Avenido Juan de Borbón. The stadium is the last stop on the line. The journey takes about 20 minutes.

An alternative is bus 1, which can, among others, be caught from the Calle Florida Blanca near the main railway station, from Plaza Isabel in the historic city centre, or from Plaza Circular. Get off at stop Nueva Condomina. Buses go fairly frequent, but not until late at night.

Address: Avenida del Estadio S/N, 30110 – Churra (Murcia)
