A fantastic day out. The game against Kaiserslautern was sold out online, the fan friendship between the two teams making this one of the big matches of the season. However, we arrived fairly early and the ticket windows were selling tickets on the home terrace.
The ground is certainly a bit tatty but there was plenty of beer available and sufficient toilets to cope. Before the game masked Ultras raised a banner and set off multiple smoke bombs. Everyone was friendly and happy to talk to tourists in town for Oktoberfest. The singing was constant and the terrace bouncing - it was like England used to be thirty years ago but probably more good natured. 1860 won 3-1 and my mate managed to miss 3 goals during one trip to the toilet. Best day out I've had at a football ground in years.
