My first Turkish football was the Ali Sami Yen in 1999..A friend of mine had been there a couple of weeks before and told me had tickets to see Galatasaray at the Ali Sami Yen and couldn't use them..I was scheduled to be in Istanbul on business so I took them off his hands..

The opponent that day has long left the memory bank but I remember the Turkish fans to be very helpful to this non Turkish speaker and they made my experience very pleseant..I make an annual trip to Istanbul to see Galatasaray play and their fans have never let me down..
