Spain

INTRODUCTION

The Stadia:
The Spanish stadia aren't the most multifunctional and comfortable stadia in the world. Though visiting a football match in Spain can be quite an experience, mostly because the stadia are large and quite impressive and the fans can be really fanatic.
Since the World Cup in 1982 the stadia have gradually been upgraded, but major developments have failed to appear. Therefore most stadia lack any good facilities and are not covered, though that last issue is not often a big problem in Spain. So when you get the chance to visit a match, it is definitely worth to take that chance.

The stadia in Spain are usually quite large, so not many games are sold out. Of course use your common sense here. Finding tickets can be a problem for the derbies (Madrid, Barcelona, Sevilla) and some other big or important matches (for example Real Madrid- Barcelona). The only club where tickets are structually sold out (also for smaller matches) is Real Madrid. Therefore getting tickets for Real Madrid asks a little bigger effort.

HOW TO GET TICKETS
Taquillas:
These ticket booths are usually situated at the stadium. This is the most easy way to get your match ticket. Just go there a couple of days before the match (or even on the match day) and buy your ticket there. The only exception as far as I know is Real Madrid, who don't have any taquillas at the stadium. To get RM tickets you have to call a special phone number (+34 902 28 17 09)

Box-office:
When the match isn't sold out there is almost always the possibility to buy a ticket at the box office at the stadium just before the match (of course Real Madrid is the exception here too).

Websites:
To be short: the websites of the Spanish clubs are usually quite bad and don't offer any information about the ticket sales for the next matches. As a consequence buying tickets via the internet is not a possibility at any club yet.
PRICES
Prices:
Tickets in Spain aren't very cheap. Often prices start at around €20.00 and increase when the places get better. It is surprising to see that the tickets for Real Madrid (€16.00) start at a lower price than for example the second division club Rayo Vallecano (€20.00).
