Italy

INTRODUCTION

The stadia:
Many of Italy's stadia were renovated for the World Cup Championships of 1990. For example San Siro and the Stadio Olimpico in Rome greatly benefitted from these renovations. However, since then there have not been many considerable changes to the football stadia. There are recent announcements of new stadia to be built, most remarkable the new Juventus Arena, but progress seems to be slow. Therefore, besides the great World Cup 1990 stadia, the stadia of the smaller clubs are usually quite old, not covered and don't have great facilities. Still, the fanatic Italian football fans can make going to a football match a lot of fun.

Since the stadia in Italy are quite large not many matches are sold out, not even the matches of the big clubs. Of course, common sense will tell that finding tickets for derbies and other big games can be a problem.

HOW TO GET TICKETS
Kiosks & other outlets:
Match tickets can be bought at special kiosks and (lotto) outlets in the city (or surroundings) of the club. There are often lists of these outlets on the club websites.

Box-office:
It is most of the time possible to buy tickets on the match day at the box-office of the stadium. This is only not possible when the match is sold out (e.g. the derbies between Milan & Inter and Roma & Lazio).

Websites:
The top clubs sell tickets via their website, often via companies such as TicketOne or www.Listicket.it. Some less prestigious clubs use these companies too, others don't and don't offer any internet-buying facilities on their sites.
PRICES
Prices:
Ticket prices for the top clubs (Juve, Milan, Inter, Roma & Lazio) range from €12.00 to €120.00. Prices of tickets for matches of other clubs range from €12.00 to €25.00. Of course this differs per club. The cheapest tickets are for the seats behind the goals and in the corners.
