How to write a review

The Stadium Guide offers you the possibility to leave a review of a stadium, whether this is related to a match you’ve visited, a stadium tour you’ve attended, or another reason that is relevant for our audience. To help you get started, a few guidelines:

What to include in a review?

  • Anything you think is relevant for other people. What most people find interesting is how you bought the ticket, how you got to the stadium, the atmosphere in the stadium, food and drinks, comfort, things to bring or leave at home, etc. Don’t give us match reports, but do state which match you went to and the date of the match.
  • With tours you could include whether it was necessary to make reservations, the parts of the stadium visited, the pace of the tour, the guide, whether they had an interesting story to tell, accessibility, etc.
  • For a few examples of our official reviews click here, here, or here.

How to write it?

  • In your own style, whether formal, informal, or witty, as long as it’s informative. Try to be comprehensive, not just three sentences, but tell a story in a clear and structured way. Remember that these are not comments, but reviews, so try to take some care in writing them.
  • In English. Don’t worry if English is not your native tongue, your language does not have to be perfect. Still only submissions in English will be accepted.

However, as always, there are a few rules:

  • Feel free to write whatever you think is relevant, give it a personal touch, but also try to be objective and reasonable.
  • This is not a stage to go on about personal complaints or gripes, or take out revenge on someone you did not like.
  • No reviews on the stadium of your favourite team. We know you think you fans make the best atmosphere in the world, but we like to keep things as objective as possible. We also haven’t left any official reviews for the teams we support.
  • No reviews on the stadium of your rival team. We know you don’t like them, but again, this is not the place to show.
  • We will not approve any reviews that suggest one of the above is the case. And because football fans are emotional, we will have to approve every review that comes in. Give us a few days to do this. We may contact you if anything is unclear, but will not publish your contact details on the site.

And finally:

  • When you publish a review you give us the rights to make small edits, like typos, grammar mistakes, punctuation, etc. We will never change the contents though.
  • When you publish a review you give us the rights to use this review for other site-related purposes, maybe even to advertise your review on the homepage if its really good. Or to use it in a newsletter.
